Breastpump – This is useful since the newborn baby has a small stomach and hence feeds every 1.5-2 hours. If the new mom is tired she can express the milk and store it in the fridge. For the new mom to catch some good rest/ sleep, their caretaker can heat up the milk and feed the baby. It is very important to do a thorough wash and sterilization (boiling parts of the pump and feeding bottle) as the baby is still not immune to bacteria. Since it is of best use in the first 2 months for the baby I personally prefer manual pump over automatic as the pricing is way different. Expressing at regular intervals, signals to the body on the requirement as baby may not feed at regular intervals.

Glass milk containers – to store milk in the fridge. Expressed milk can be kept in the fridge for 4 days and once heated and taken for feeding can be kept for 4 hours outside.

Paladai – To introduce the baby to feeding in case they are not good at latching. Instead of the feeding bottle this would keep their sucking interest intact (as mentioned by lactation expert). Feeding bottle for newborns are not preferred for it is easy for bacteria to form at the nipple and corners of bottles.
